A gallery of photos from the First World War taken by Christina Broom, the UK’s first female press photographer. A collection of around 2,500 of her photographs has been acquired by the Museum of London. Broom came to photography when she was in her 40s - in 1903 - so that she could create and sell photographic postcards, a new trade that was thriving at the time.
